Made from sweet cane sugar and decorated with brightly coloured beads, foil and icing, the calavera is an important part of Mexican culture, allowing people to celebrate and reconnect with those that they have lost.

I got this one for its hand presence and it strongly delivers on that front, but I did feel let down in one area. The band is just a bit too thinned out along the sides, going around the back. This amplified the design's already inherent lack of balance even more.
I may just be spoiled by also owning the Hyo ring, which itself has good presence, but is also very much substantial all the way round. This is the one thing keeping me from giving it full marks.
